The + comparative + ประโยคบอกเล่า, the + comparative + ประโยคบอกเล่า

 
 เปรียบเทียบสัดส่วนที่เพิ่มหรือลดตามกัน แปลว่า ยิ่ง...ยิ่ง

       

- The less he says about it, the better it will be.
   เขายิ่งพูดน้อยมากเท่าไหร่ ก็ยิ่งดีเท่านั้น
- The more we learn, the wiser we become.
   เรียนมากเท่าไหร่ ยิ่งจะลาดมากเท่านั้น
- The more medicine I take, the worse I feel.
   ฉันกินยามากเท่าไหร่ ฉันก็ยิ่งรู้สึกแย่เท่านั้น
- The more he tried to help her, the less she seemed to appreciate it.
   ยิ่งเขาพยายามช่วยเธอมากเท่าไหร่ เธอยิ่งเห็นคุณค่าน้อยเท่านั้น
